Gluten-free Meal Delivery Kits for Your Hectic Life

Gluten-free meal delivery

Sometimes, life gets so busy that you know you’re not going to have time to cook or go to the grocery store. Maybe cooking just isn’t your thing. Luckily, there are gluten-free meal delivery services that you can count on.

Most of the major meal delivery services offer a gluten-free option, however, they note that cross contamination is possible. We’ve done a roundup of the meal services that truly are dedicated gluten-free (although it’s still always a good idea to test ingredients you aren’t sure about with Nima before you eat!)

What it doesn’t have

There aren’t any “gluten-free” alternatives in their meals (things like potato starch or tapioca flour). Instead, their meals are made of, “real, clean whole foods that are naturally gluten-free. We find that this is a more digestible and satisfying way to avoid gluten.”

Their dishes are created without common allergens like dairy, soy and gluten, but meals include a variety of grains, beans, vegetables, fruits, nuts, spice and herbs. “Each week, we create a menu of dishes that is sent to all of our customers, so if you have a specific allergy, we cannot create a custom menu or meals for you.”

Independent Review

According to Top 10 Meal Delivery Services, “…the chefs working for 22 Days Nutrition really do an amazing job at creating different, creative, imaginative, and delicious weekly menus.”

On the downside, they don’t offer a family plan (no ordering of larger portions, just individual meals) and you can’t customize your meal plans. So this is good for folks who only need to worry about gluten.

Here are some highlights from a review by VegKitchen:

“I was impressed by how flavorful the offerings were. They needed no “doctoring up,” as premade meals often do. The downside is, the meals are, “not ‘man-sized’ enough for a person with a heartier appetite, and wouldn’t supply enough calories for a 6-foot tall guy who weighs 180 pounds.”

Independent review

Here are some highlights from a review by A Squirrel In The Kitchen:

“I was expecting ‘grandma-style’ comfort food and that’s exactly what it was. It was moist with a lot of veggies and meat inside. My husband, who graciously volunteered to taste it with me, really liked the dough. Chicken pot pie is not something we get to eat often, quite the contrary in fact, so this was very special. I would serve it with a little green salad on the side if you have some on hand.”

“These AIP meals are not something I would be able to purchase on a regular basis, nor would I want to, but they are fantastic when you are in a pickle and can’t cook for yourself.”

Independent review

Here are a few highlights from Alex Tran:

“Freshly meals taste amazing coming out of a microwave (you can also bake them if you’d prefer).”

“The chicken meals are generally the most filling. While I never finish a meal still feeling hungry, I do wish the portions were larger on some of them.”

“As far as the breakfast meals, I don’t feel like they’re worth it. Mainly because they’re mostly egg-based. Unfortunately, I can’t get really excited about eggs. And you don’t get a whole lot of food for your money.”

The next time you know you’re going to have a busy time at work or at home, know that you have options in these gluten-free meal delivery services for fast, GF noshes!
