It was founded by Melanie, a mother of two boys. Her son, Bradley, was diagnosed with severe food allergies at only nine months old. More than 20 years ago, restaurant Eat’n Park, the Place for Smiles, create a smiley cookie to demonstrate the philosophy of the restaurant. Every child that dines at Eat’n Park gets a gourmet smiley cookie, which comes to more than one million free cookies every year. The restaurant also donates more than 200,000 cookies each year to local non-profit organizations.

Their cookies do contain wheat, egg, soy and dairy, but are made in a peanut-free and tree-nut free facility.

Who They Are

Divvies Bakery describes itself as the, “…magical land of “YES!” for many with dietary restrictions to peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, and dairy.” Owners Lori and Mark Sandler’s son Benjamin was born with severe food allergies. Lori made it her mission to create recipes for sweets that he and his friends would enjoy. Benjamin and his treats were such a hit at class parties and baseball games, he shared, or “divvied” up his treats for his friends. That’s how the bakery was born.

Divvies sells cookies, cookie sandwiches, chocolate, cupcakes and popcorn, which can all be ordered on their site.
