Gluten-free London: A #nimatested Dining Guide

gluten-free London

From the Tower Bridge to Buckingham Palace, there are so many famous spots in London to see, but between all the sightseeing another important part of any city is its food! For people with Celiac Disease, it can be more time consuming than convenient to find food options while you’re touring the city. So, here is a Nima tested guide to restaurants within walking distance of London’s top attractions. I found many restaurants were very accommodating to allergies, having separate gluten-free menus or happily helping me find the options that were gluten-free.

Note: As with all our guides, always use precaution when dining out. The ingredients or staff can be different day by day and a Nima test does not guarantee the whole plate. Bring your Nima along with extra capsules and always let Nima take the first bite!

Notes: There are multiple Bill’s restaurant locations throughout London, but if you’re looking for a restaurant near Buckingham Palace this is the place to go. This location is on Cathedral Walk, which offers other gluten-free restaurant options as well. Enjoy many dishes from their dedicated gluten-free menu as well as helpful staff that accommodate for allergy needs.

Notes: Good for breakfast near Trafalgar Square and the Thames River, they don’t have a dedicated gluten-free menu but can make most dishes gluten-free. It is within walking distance of the Golden Jubilee Bridge, which gives you easy access to the London Eye, London Aquarium, The Queens Walk, and many more attractions.

Notes: If you’re looking for a traditional English pub experience, the Red Lion is a great place to go! Although they don’t have a dedicated gluten-free menu, the staff was very accommodating to allergies and able to suggest gluten-free options. There are numerous locations around London, but I suggest the Parliament St. location in Westminster because you will be close to Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and able to cross the bridge to the London Eye.

Pizza Express locations are scattered around the city conveniently located around London’s main attractions. I stopped in to grab a bite to eat after getting off Charing Cross station in Trafalgar Square. You’ll be in a perfect location to visit numerous museums and theaters, such as the National Gallery and Her Majesty’s Theatre.
