Let Nima Take the First Bite
Nima empowers you to dine out more often, say yes to catered events, double-check a packaged food, and travel far and wide.
How do I Test?
Nima uses anti-body based chemistry to test samples of food for the proteins found in gluten. Just place a small amount of food in one of the disposable test capsules, insert the capsule into the sensor, push a button, wait a few minutes, and see the result!
What can I test?
Any food substance, liquid or solid can be tested with Nima (except for a few limitations, see below FAQ). A few examples of commonly tested foods are: french fries, pizza, soups, salad dressings, muffins, cookies, cereals, nutrition bars, and much more!
Where can I test?
Anywhere! Eating out or dining in, let Nima take the first bite. Want to check that the gluten-free soup at the grocery store is really gluten-free? Trying a new packaged food where no ingredients look risky but you just want to be sure? Nima is small enough to fit in your pocket so wherever you can go, Nima can go too!
The world’s first portable peanut tester.
“I just wanted to say thank you so much for creating Nima, it might have saved my life today. I went to a local pub, checked the allergen menu and from that picked out a meal that was specific peanut free. I still informed the waitress who then informed the chef but when I tested the meal, it came back positive [for peanut]. I alerted the staff who checked their ingredients and realized there were peanuts in the sauce that they weren’t aware of. They have now changed their allergen information and checking everything.”
“This product works as advertised which isn’t always the case buying online. The company appears very concerned with making the product easy to use and easy to understand. Quick start instructions are all you need to be up and testing your food. Sample caps are a little hard to open/close but they have already though of that and included an ergonomic handle! Sensor size is amazingly small, discretely fits in an adult’s pants or jacket pocket. This technology won’t take the place of common sense and reasonable precaution but it will give us additional peace of mind especially when eating out. I know restaurants do their best, but accidents happen. Fortunately with the Nima Sensor we are able to do something about that.”
“I love Nima for peanut!!! The design is so sleek and I can easily take it with me wherever I go. It’s so easy to test food and I feel safer and healthier with the Nima. The test only takes a couple of moments and has made a huge difference for me. Thank you to the whole team for bringing this to market!!!”
“My Nima Peanut Sensor works just like my Nima Gluten Sensor – it’s simple to use and provides extra peace of mind if you want to check something for peanut traces. It’s light enough to carry it and several capsules at one time for on the go testing. It’s such a great invention and worth it for anyone with a peanut allergy or a family member with a peanut allergy. There is so much risk when eating, that having an extra check really removes a lot of that anxiety. I hope they make them for all allergens eventually! ”

“The Nima Peanut sensor has been a great asset to our family. We use our Peanut sensor as the last step to our protocol when testing our food. We take precautions necessary to ensure our food is made safely when our food arrives we test with Nima as a last step. Peanut sign means it’s not safe, happy face means it’s safe. Super simple to use my 8 year old does testing on her own. Its small enough to fit in a small purse, one charge last many days and tests. It comes with a small cloth baggie to carry you nina, charger and a couple capsules.”
“I bought the peanut sensor for my 6 year old nephew who is allergic to peanuts. I know my family is always anxious when dining out or eating packaged food. We have always been cautious and asked our servers to take out peanuts – since many of the asian restaurants we often go to use nuts or peanut oil. Regardless, whether the food is an item from a menu or a simple granola bar, we can now test it with the sensor. It’s pretty convenient in that it’s small so it’s definitely not a problem to take around to places. So far, I’ve tested soup, crackers, cookies, and asian dishes – noodles, rice, etc. I haven’t gotten any errors and the results seem to show up pretty quickly. cute design too- the smile especially. Very useful device!”
